Rhythm of Handwriting Student Book

The Logic of English Rhythm of Handwriting program develops fluid handwriting in students of all ages. Letters are taught using a multi-sensory approach that begins with large-motor movements. By learning how to form each letter on a handwriting chart using the pointer finger, students are able to master the motions before advancing to writing the letter with a pencil. Clear instructions provide students with an understanding of how to write each letter and where it is placed on the lines. Shortened, bold instructions emphasize the rhythmic motions needed to develop fluid handwriting. Letters are grouped by initial stroke in order to simplify the learning process and encourage the development of muscle memory. Introductory pages are filled with tips and resources for the teacher, allowing the Rhythm of Handwriting Student Book to stand alone as a course for teaching handwriting. Once students have mastered fourteen letters, they are taught how to connect letters at the baseline to form words. This lesson includes enlarged sample words for students to practice "writing" with their index finger in order to develop a kinesthetic feel of the smoothness of writing words in cursive. After learning the lowercase letters which end on the midline, students are taught explicitly how to connect letters with a dip connector.

Each lesson includes a variety of line sizes so that students can determine which size paper is most comfortable for their hand. The sounds for each of the letters are included to aid teachers in introducing the A-Z phonograms. This program is suitable for students of all ages who desire to master the cursive style of handwriting.

New Cover and Name

We have changed the name and the cover of the original Cursive Handwriting book, to The Rhythm of Handwriting Cursive Student Book. The new name should provide more clarity. The new cover reflects the new name, and a new look.

The contents of the book have remained the same, with the addition of numerals. Now it includes how to write the numbers, and the strokes that are needed to form each letter.

The new covers have not been printed yet, so we are still shipping the old cover on printed copies of the Cursive Handwriting book. The price on the printed Cursive book will remain the same until the new covers are released.
