OR
From the “Settings” page, touch the user account you want to switch to, and navigate from there.
Touch the “Speak” button on the home page to go to the “Listen” page.
The Listen Page is broken into 2 main areas:
If you are holding the device in portrait, you’ll need to touch the button in the top bar to expose the Phonogram Groups List Panel.
In the Phonogram Group Display Area, touch each phonogram to listen to its sound.
Within the “Listen” Page, touch the “Speak” button at the bottom of the Phonogram Group Display area. This will show each phonogram, play the corresponding sound, and allow enough time for the student to repeat the sound.
From the Home page, touch the play button. Each time the game starts for a user, it will immediately start level one of the pre-built levels.
View all the phonograms in a level. As you go, match at least 70% of the phonograms to the sound you hear on the first attempt. Matching 70-80% of phonograms on the first attempt will earn you one star, 80-90% - two stars, 90-100% three stars.
Match the phonogram to the sound heard on the first attempt at least 5 times with no mistakes. Be careful, one mistake will reset the mastery ‘level’ for that phonogram back to zero. This will encourage students to base decisions on all the sounds of the phonogram along with any spelling rule that sets it apart.
On the home page, touching the user name will take you to that user’s “Stats” page. From there chose from the levels available for play. A level becomes available for play by clearing (completing) the previous level.
You may also get to the user’s “Stats” page at the end of each level, or after stopping a game.
On the home page, touching the user name will take you to that user’s “Stats” page. From there choose the Custom Level Builder to mix and match from various phonogram groupings to create a unique playlist for the custom level.
The Custom Level Builder page is made up of 3 main areas:
If you are holding the device in portrait, you’ll need to touch the button in the top bar to expose the Phonogram Groups List Panel. You may choose all, some, or none of the phonograms in each level to include in your play list.
Add a phonogram in the Phonogram Group Display Area to the Play List Panel by touching it. Touch the phonogram again OR touch the phonogram in the Play List Panel to remove it from the Play List Panel.
Touch the “Select all” button (four squares with blue borders) at the top of the Phonogram Group Display Area. All phonograms from that grouping will be added to the Play List Panel.
Touch the “Deselect all” button (four squares with no borders) at the top of the Phonogram Group Display Area. All phonograms from that grouping will be removed from the Play List Panel, if they were included.
